He was born Oct. 17, 1959, in Peoria to Larry and Rosie (Swanson) McCoy. He married Tammie (Burgess) McCoy on Sept. 12, 2001, in Las Vegas, Nev. She survives.
Also surviving are his father, Larry of Elmwood; two brothers, David (Kathy) McCoy of Carlyle and Patrick (Tammy) McCoy of Elmwood; two sisters, Diana (Todd) Langbartels of Chicago Heights and Erin (Brent Gick) McCoy of Lebanon, Ind.; seven nephews, Austyn, Kolton, Wyatt, Nicholas, Donovan, Sam and Alex; one niece, Hope (Pollman) Funderburk; great-niece, Sophia; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Dianne Burgess of Yates City; and his dog, Lexi.
Dan was preceded in death by his mother and niece.
Bus was an avid outdoorsman who also loved to cook and entertain family and friends. He was employed by AmerenCILCO for 25 years.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Elmwood.
Dan touched many lives and will be lovingly missed.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Church in Elmwood. Father Paul Stiene, I.C. will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 802 W. Main St., Elmwood, Ill. Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood is in charge of arrangements.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
