Rose was born December 21, 1935 in Lexington to Hansford “Simon” and Beulah (Stratton) Stapleton. She graduated from Lexington High School. On December 31, 1954 she married Richard Byram Thomas in Lexington. Rose was a homemaker. She was a member of Lexington First Baptist Church and loved bingo, fishing and her grandchildren.
Survivors include, her children, Rick Thomas and wife Terry of Lexington, Brigette Bell and husband John of Lexington and Bethany Thomas of Wellington; and grandchildren, Hayley Henre and husband Skylar, John Bell, Jr., Shante Nickell and husband Dustin, Dakota Bell, Kevin Appleby, II, Samantha Dizmang and husband Bobby, Savannah Thomas and Matthew Trevelli, II; 14 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Hansford “Hanny” Stapleton, Jr. and Emmett “Dutch” Stapleton; and daughter Vicky Thomas.
