Cox, Jared Curtis Jared Curtis Cox of Grand Rapids, Michigan, age 26, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Saturday, November 7, 2015. He was born to Curtis Cox and Cathy Sevigny on Sunday, March 19, 1989, in Grand Rapids, and had been a lifelong resident of the area and a 2007 graduate of Rockford High School. Jared was a loving son, adored grandson, wonderful brother and nephew, and dear friend and cousin. He will always be remembered by his reserved composure and a shining smile that could brighten any room. He loved his job, taking great pride working for Professional Maintenance of Michigan as a Building Supervisor. He was also a passionate gamer and loved his virtual adventures. Jared will be sadly missed, but always and fondly remembered by his family, friends, and best feline friend, Varg. Jared is survived by his loving mother and father Cathy Sevigny and Curtis Cox; sister Alexandra Cox; grandmother Yvonne Sevigny; and aunts and uncles, Scott Sevigny, Craig Sevigny, Jeff (Brenda) Sevigny, Julie Sevigny, Todd (Rachelle) Sevigny, Lori (JD) Newsome, and Keith (Colleen) Cox; his cat Varg; and numerous cousins and other beloved members of the Cox and Sevigny families. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Bill Sevigny and Curt (Dean) Cox; aunt Laurie Sevigny; and cousin Erica Sevigny. There will be a time of visitation from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2015, with an evening scripture service beginning at 7:30 p.m., at Pederson Funeral Home, 127 N. Monroe Street NE, Rockford, MI 49341. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 13, 2015, at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, 4865 11 Mile Road NE, Rockford, MI 49341. Fr. Tony Russo will be presiding. There will also be a one hour visitation at church prior to Mass. Jared will be laid to rest in Rockford Cemetery. Those wishing to offer expressions of sympathy are encouraged to make a memorial contribution to the Michigan Association for Suicide Prevention, c/o Mary Baukus, 2220 Mershon Street, Saginaw, MI 48602; or to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, 120 Wall Street, 29th Floor, New York, NY 10005.
