Funeral services for Helen Cordek [also Kordek], 7, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Cordek, 208 Greenway Ave., who was struck- and instantly killed by an electric car in the 1360 block of Burnet Avenue Friday night, will be conducted in the home Monday morning at 7:15 o'clock and the Church of the Transfiguration at 7:30. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.

The accident is described in an article in the March 17 Syracuse Herald, "Girl Crushed to Death By Utica Trolley" (p. 6): "Helen Cordek, 7, was killed instantly at 6:30 o'clock last night when the front, trucks of a westbound Utica electric car passed over her body. She was the third child victim of railway accidents in a month." The article states that a group of people at the scene of the accident became enraged "and threatened both motorman and conductor." The circumstances of the accident were that "the car was slowed down almost to a stop to pass a large truck parked at the curb when the accident occurred. "

Helen Cordek was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Cordek of 208 Greehway Avenue. She was returning from the store of Michael Tyminski, 1331 Burnet Avenue when she was struck.
Adam Golden of 101 Dillaye Avenue [a witness to the accident] says he saw the girl step from the curb and walking across the street but that he did not know she had been struck.
It was declared among those who gathered that the death is the third on the corner from street cars in five years. A year ago Helen Gerki, 7, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Frank Gerki, was killed in almost the same spot; two years ago a baby was killed there.
Motorman and conductor were paroled to make written statements to the police today.
