Nellie Jordan Moore Herbin was born July 24, 1930 in Durham County, North Carolina to the late Dozier Jordan and Carrie Jordan. After a brief illness, God was ready to welcome her home to be with Him on Friday, March 20, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Burlington, N.C.

She was a “Blessed woman of God” that helped so many people in and around her community that were in need for many years. She loved to travel when her health permitted.

Nellie was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church and attended as long as her health permitted. She especially loved the little children’s choir.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter M. Moore and J.C. Herbin, two sisters, Inez F. Williams and Marie Patrick, two brothers, Waddell Jordan and Herbert Jordan, three sons, Harold Moore, Walter K. Moore, Tony Moore, one daughter, Shelia Moore.

Nellie leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her memories: Two sons, Connie Moore (Carolyn) of Burlington, NC; Duncan Moore of Elon, NC; Three daughters, Joyce (Brenda) Madkins (Lacy), Faye Pinnix (William) of Burlington, NC and Sandra Cohn (Joien) of Elon, NC.; daughter-in-law, Patricia Moore of Fayetteville; Nine grandchildren, one deceased; sixteen great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; special thanks to her nieces, Johnette W. Cozart and Margaret Fuller; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who all loved her dearly.
