UNITED STATES NAVY VETERAN

Russell Earl Gray, our beloved father and friend passed away on March 24, 2020. He was born on August 4, 1930 in Renovo, PA son of Joanna “Anna” and James L. Gray. Russ held many jobs at various locations but his most memorable time spent at General Electric Company in Erie, PA and Hammermill Paper Company in Lock Haven, PA.

He served as a member of the US Navy from February 1952 - February 1956 as a Radio operator on the USS Newport News earning a national defense service medal, good conduct medal and navy occupation service medal. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Russ was a social member of the Sons of Italy.

He is survived by his children, Cheryl Sikoraskas, Craig (Kris) Gray, Chris Schwarz (Craig Renner), Michael (Lynn) Gray, Steven (Christine) Gray, Nikki Gray (Jamie Hanafy) along with 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and brother-in-law, David Glossner and was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Gray, and brothers Donald, James, Clifford and sister Marge.

A graveside memorial service for the family will be held at Rest Haven Memorial at 11:00 on Friday, March 27, 2020. Arrangements are under the direction of the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services LLC, 121 W. Main Street, Lock Haven.
