Dixie Lee Martin, 66, of Saxis, wife of Richard Lee Martin, Sr., passed away on August 25, 2019 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital.

Born on October 21, 1952 in Nassawadox, she was the daughter of the late Adrion (Dick) Richard Williams and Betty Jane Linton Williams. Dixie was a member of the Saxis United Methodist Church and had worked at the former R&G Shirt Factory, Roses, NASA and most recently at Accomack Go-Glass, where she was a customer service representative for 18 years. She enjoyed spending her free time reading, gardening her flower beds and playing and loving on her "Lil Man", Jonathan.

Other than her husband, Dixie is survived by two sons, Richard Lee Martin, II and wife, Lorraine of Parksley and Nicholas Adrion Martin and wife, Jamie of Saxis; two sisters, Helena Mister of Durham, NC and Elizabeth McGee and husband, Joe of Withams; two brothers, Adrion "A.W." Williams and wife, Phyllis of Saxis and Anthony "Wayne" Williams and wife, Linda of Wilmington, DE; one grandson, Jonathan Lee Martin of Parksley; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 31st at 2:00 PM from the Saxis United Methodist Church with Rev. Andy Cobb officiating. Interment will follow in the Groton's Cemetery in Hallwood.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Arrangements are by the Thornton Funeral Home in Parksley, VA.
