Bonnie Faye Watkins was born July 12, 1949 in Rankin County, MS to late Mr. Herman Watkins and Bonnie Lee "Chapman" Watkins.

Bonnie grew up in Rankin County, Mississippi where she graduated from Carter High School, and from there traveled the country attending Job Corp and later attended Utica Community College.

Bonnie was saved at a young age at Sweet Water Missionary Baptist Church. She later attended Wayside Church of Deliverance for over thirty years until moving to Flint, Michigan attending Open Doors Temple, pastored by Rev. Clinton Badon. She worked in Early Head Start for over twenty years and taught children church, Sunday School as well as mentored others.

Bonnie Faye married Curtis M. Holmes in 1976, with this union five children were born.

Bonnie Faye was proceeded in death by her mother, father and siblings, Maree (Walter Steve, Jimmy Watkins, John Watkins, Pete Watkins, Bettye Watkins and Kenneth Watkins.

Bonnie Faye Holmes leaves behinds to cherish her memories a husband, Curtis Holmes of Jackson, MS, two sons, Curtis Holmes and Nichelos Holmes; three daughters, Lydia Holmes, Alexandria "Maria" Holmes and Dana Holmes; thirteen; grandchildren, Jason, Jamel, Iyanna, Ramone, Demarcus, Katie, Nickea, Nichelos, Santana, Quavion, Angelito, CJ, and Jessie. Bonnie was also a loving stepmother to Cherise Miner, Kenrick Reed and grandmother to Lashae, Demarco and Marquez Miner.
