Mrs. Sandra “Sandy” Kay Leach York, 70, went to be with the Lord on March 15, 2020.
Sandy was born on April 9, 1949, in High Point, NC to the late George Braxton & Evelyn Scarbrough Leach. She was employed with Watford Realty for 30 years. She was President of the Board of Realtors in 1992 and was named Realtor of the year in 1993. She was a member of Carolina Memorial Baptist Church.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and brother Duane Leach.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53, years Ronald M. York; daughter, Brooke Murphy; grandson, Caleb Murphy; sister, Jane (Rick) Pinion; sister-in-law, Sandra (Andy) Harrison, all of Thomasville; as well as a large extended family.
The funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at Carolina Memorial Baptist Church on Liberty Drive in Thomasville. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall from 10:00 am – 11:30 am. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to be made to The Children’s Home Society of NC, PO Box 14608, Greensboro, NC 27415; or Fairgrove Family Resource Center, 159 Myrtle Dr., Thomasville, NC 27360.
