Mr. Terry Michael “Mac” Gill, resident of Vanndale, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, March 22, 2020, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro at the age of 67. Mac was born in West Memphis on Friday, March 13, 1953, the son of Mr. Hubert Gill and Mrs. Lois (Needham) Gill.
Mac was a 1971 graduate of Marked Tree High School, and worked as a mechanic. He and Betty Jane (Holt) Gill were united in marriage on January 4, 1992. Mac was a faithful member of Vanndale Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School. Mac enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and attending their ball games. His favorite hobby was fishing. Mac will be missed dearly by his family, who all knew him as “Papaw.” He was a loving husband, son, brother, father, and grandfather.
Mr. Gill was preceded in death by his mother.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Betty Gill of the home; his father, Hubert Gill of Black Oak; two daughters, Shannon Hosman and husband, Brian, of Tyronza, and Teri Gill and husband, Lavon, of Jonesboro; two stepsons, John Yates and wife, Melissa, of Jonesboro, and David Yates of Cherry Valley; a brother, Gary Gill and wife, Rosemary, of Wynne; a sister, Judy Glidewell and husband, Joe, of Black Oak; nine grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be private with interment in Vanndale Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are John Andrews, Lavon Butler, Gary Gill, Brian Hosman, Roger Johnson, and Joey Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Jackson Butler, Tyler Hardwick, Sam Hosman, Dalton Yates, Jed Yates, Kody Yates, and Luke Yates.
