He was a native of Gaston County, born Feb. 25, 1956, to the late Floyd Lee and Frances Leatherwood Spencer.
He was a textile machine operator and he loved Tar Heel casketball and spending time with his grandchildren. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceeded in death by his parents,and a brother Tommy Lee Spencer.
Survivors include his wife Linda Hughes Spencer, former wife Jasia Spencer, his children Larry "Noonie" Spencer and Michael "Tank" Spencer, both of Lowell, stepchildren Billy Wayne Cole and Kristi Cole, both of Gastonia, Lori Cole of Dallas, four grandchildren, one brother Barry Leroy "Begie" Spencer of Gastonia. Numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Neph-ews, friends and neighbors.
Memorial service will be 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel.
Family will receive friends after the service.
Memorials may be made to the East Gastonia Boys and Girls Club, 701 East First Street, Lowell NC 28098.
