He was born on July 20, 1946 in Dawson Springs, KY to Bailey and Wanda Copeland. He was a 1966 graduate of Charlestown High School, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War where he received a Purple Heart. He was a member of American Legion Post 335 and V.F.W. Post 1427 and a retired switchman for CSX Railroad. He enjoyed fishing and watching any and all sports. He was active in veterans support groups and organizations and enjoyed being with his family and traveling to Indiana to visit his family and friends here. Jimmy is preceded in death by his siblings, Judy, Tommy, Doug and Martha Sue.
