After an illness of three months, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth McCausland, 84 years of age, died at her home in Crystal, Hennepin county, Sunday morning, July 2., She was born February 24, 1821, in Harrison, Me. On Thanksgiving day, 1840, she was married to Elisha McCausland, in Pittsfield, Me. They came to Minnesota June 22, 1854, settling at once on the place where she was to spend the rest of her long and useful life. She was the mother of six children, but only one, Mrs. O.H. Harrington, survive her. Of her sixteen grandchildren, thirteen are still living. She had, also, twenty great grandchildren, nineteen of whom survive her. Mrs. McCausland was a woman of many lovable qualities, making home pleasant, not only for her family, but also for the many visitors who enjoyed her hospitality. She was loved and respected by the whole community. In her death a loss is sustained that will be hard to fill. She is survived by her husband, slightly her senior, but who is still, in spite of his many years, very active and energetic.
