Douglas C. Thornton, 52, of Decatur, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at his residence. Doug was born on February 28, 1968 in Decatur, IN to the late Ronald L. and Sharon L. (Thompson) Thornton.
On March 3, 2001, Doug married Stephanie L. Cook.
Doug was a mechanic and worked for WalMart, INDOT and Lingenfelter’s. He coached football and baseball and coached 2 teams in Cooperstown, NY. He loved to race R/C cars and was an avid Raiders and Nascar fan.
He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Thornton; 3 children, Brittany (Branden) Hill, Gregory (Nicole) Thornton and Cody Thornton all of Decatur; grandchildren, Charles, Addison, Eliana, Cypress, Corine, Lyndon, Kalum and Cooper.
Private visitation and funeral will be held at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery.
