Ann Marie was born in Westerly, the daughter of the late John and Ann Marie (Gouvin) Donahue.
Ann Marie was a graduate of Stonington High School. She then married Russell on Nov. 18, 1950, at Christ Episcopal Church. She worked for TJ Maxx in customer service until her retirement in 2007. She also worked for many years at Bess Eaton Donuts and Cumberland Farms. Ann Marie was an avid roller skater in her younger years. She loved to spend time with her family, dance, play bingo and bake, where she was famous for her lemon squares and cream puffs.
She is survived by four sons, Russell Barber of Norwich, Conn., Earl "Sandy" Barber of Newington, Conn., Dean Barber of Westerly, and Todd Barber of Norwich; three brothers, Joseph "Toot" Donahue of Westerly, Leo Donahue of Ledyard, Conn., and Paul Mitchell of Pawcatuck; three sisters, Maureen Reale of Westerly, Patricia Lucy of Pawcatuck, and Joyce DiGangi of Ledyard; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one brother, John Donahue.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Michael of the Archangel Church, Liberty Street, Pawcatuck; relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours are in Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly, Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery.
