Arthur Eugene Sharp, 80, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 8:40 pm March 20, 2020 at Nature Trail Health Care in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born July 22, 1939 in Iuka, Illinois to the late Johnnie Eugene and Nellis (Brookman) Sharp. Arthur married Velma Addock and she preceded him in death in 1991.
Arthur is survived by his son, John Eugene Sharp of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandson, Mitchell Lee Sharp of Mount Vernon, Illinois; and granddaughter, Elezebeth Marie Schrum of Effingham, Illinois.
In addition to his parents and wife, Arthur was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Biri; sister, Elsie Fisher; and infant brother.
Mr. Sharp worked as a mechanic for most of his life and he retired from Joy Manufacturing in Mount Vernon.
