She moved to Richmond in 1936 and graduated from The Collegiate Schools in 1939.
Received her degree from Wilson College, Chambersburg, Pa., in 1943. She worked at the Medical College of Virginia and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., before attending UNC-Chapel Hill, where she received a Master's degree in Microbiology. Mrs. Bedinger returned to MCV, and worked in the Virology Lab from 1944 until her retirement in 1982.The sister of Portia Vinson Lawson of Roanoke;and William D. Vinson of Davidson, N.C.
