Born in Greenville, SC, she was a daughter of the late William Thomas and Anna Turner Fowler. Mrs. Burns was retired from the Greenville County Recreation Commission after 20 plus years and she was a charter member of Edwards Road Baptist Church.
Surviving are her two daughters: Bonnie Burns O’Shields and husband Rev. Shawn of Dacusville, Brenda Burns Kelley and husband Paul of Taylors; 4 grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann O’Shields and her fiancé Camerron Shupe, Haley Hession Maxey and her husband Jacob, Henry Francis Xavier Hession VI and Connor Burns O’Shields; 2 great grandchildren, Benjamin Gunner Maxey and Shepherd Coleman Maxey: her sister Jean Fowler Sharpe and many loving nieces and nephews.
