Walter P. Ashley, 71, of Brandenburg, passed away at his home on June 1, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Rosie; six children, Angela Holtsclaw (Tracy), Jamie Ashley (Sheila), Troy Ashley (Missy), Eric Ashley (Kim), Jeremiah Ashley (Christina), and Andrew Ashley; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; as well as three sisters, Marilyn Colmore, Pam Ashley-Sexton, and Eva Marie Scroggy (Edward). Walter will be missed by all, especially by his “million dollar” horse, Blackie. Walter was active in the Wilder Park Neighborhood Association, a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society at Holy Name Church, and was a member of the Meade County Equine Rescue Society. Visitation will be at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service immediately following at 7:00 p.m.
