Garland was born December 27, 1930 to the late Pearl Summers and Jewell Jennings Jones. He was also preceded in death by his youngest son, Kenneth E. Jones.
Garland was a retired lift operator with Kroger, and was a Navy Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. Garland was an avid woodworker having made many home furnishings and toys for family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are loving wife, Delores S. Jones of Charleston; sons, David Jones (Sharon) of Charleston, and Bob Jones (Susannah) of Stuart, Florida; siblings, Jean, Hannah, Jim (Carol), Ted, and Jack (Linda) all of Ohio; grandchildren, Jeff, Mike, Daniel, Katie, Will, Stephanie, Chris, Zach, Rick Holmes, and Tonya Belcher (Larry); eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral service will be Noon Monday, January 13, 2020 at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes, WV 25313. Burial will follow with Military Honors in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
