Gary Dwaine McCormick passed away peacefully at home with his wife on Saturday March 14, 2020, after a long battle with cancer. He was 70 years old.

Gary was born on October 8, 1949 in Marianna, Florida. He grew up in Mobile, Alabama and graduated from Davidson High School. He was a graduate of The University of South Alabama with a degree in Chemistry and Clinical Laboratory Medicine. During his career he was the Administrative Director of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine for several hospitals throughout Florida, Georgia and Massachusetts. After retirement, he moved to Navarre, Florida and started his own real estate brokerage in the late 1990s and met his future wife Lynda in 1999.

Gary was a charming, charismatic, true southern gentleman with a heart of gold. His smile and wonderful personality could light up the room and he had an unprecedented style that was unlike anyone else. He was funny! His favorite hobbies were playing golf, boating, fishing, any kind of sports. He loved adventure and being on the water. He cherished all of his wonderful friends, was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by father, Joseph McCormick and his brother, David McCormick.

His surviving relatives are his loving wife and best friend, Lynda Shaw; his mother, Merle Ladnier; his daughters, Aimee (Chip) McCormick-Brown and Lisa Overby; son, Josh McCormick; grandchildren, Harry Brown, Colin Overby, Caleb Brokaw and Kamden McCormick; his sister Joanne (Harry) Mendleson-Davis; his nephews, Kyle McCormick and Allen Davis; his aunts, Thelma (Charles) Carlton, Janice (Ronnie) O’Neil, and many cousins.
