Buckwalter family records suggest that the wife of John Buchwalter (1728-1807) was Elizabeth Clements. Given that John and his wife had a son named Gerhart, his wife must have been part of the Gerhart Clemens family. However, there is no Elizabeth in that family who would fit as John's wife. On the other hand, the will of Gerhart's son John (1707-1782) makes a bequest to the children of his late daughter Margaret "Bugwalter". John Clemen's will was written in 1781. John Buchwalter's wife was known to have died in 1776. So it seems likely that John Buchwalter's wife was Margaret Clemens. It's possible that she also went by Elizabeth but she is listed as Margaret in her father's will. Margaret had Allebach relatives in the Bally area through her mother so it seems reasonable that she would have married someone from that area.
