William M. Delahoy
William M. Delahoy, 82, of RD 2, Mayville, formerly of Cherry Creek, died Saturday afternoon April 21,1979 in Fenton Park Nursing Home where he had been a patient since February, 1978.
He was born Oct. 26, 1896 in Cherry Creek, the son of Frank W. and Orpha Gage Delahoy.
Delahoy was a former member of United Brethren Church of Cherry Creek.
He had operated a dairy farm near Cherry Creek and had been employed at Jamestown Malleable. Later he was employed for four years as a gardener at the Bellinger Estate near Chautauqua.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Chase Delahoy, who died in 1949, a son, Clarence Delahoy in 1966 and a brother, Lloyd Delahoy in 1977.
Surviving are his wife, Alberta Delahoy of Ashville; a daughter, Lucy Dye, Falconer; a son, Charles W. Delahoy, of Mayville, with whom he had resided; two step-daughters, Beatrice Young, Steamburg and Beverly Kervin, Gerry; two stepsons, Walter Rogalski of Rochester and Raymond Rogalski, Ellington; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren; two brothers, Ellis Delahoy, Lakewood and Elton Delahoy of Falconer.
The funeral was held Tuesday in Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville.
The Rev. Richard Dowd, pastor of Sardinia United Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in Cherry Creek Cemetery.
