JOE "JOE BABY"'S OBITUARY
Joe “Joe Baby” Baker, 83, of the Fowlkes Community, died Friday, March 20, 2020 at his residence. Born September 16, 1936, he is the son of the late Leslie Perry and Pearlie Lee Mooney Baker. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church and a retired truck driver with F&W Express. Mr. Baker proudly served his country in the Army National Guard.
Private funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2020 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Loren Stephens and Reverend Danny Griffin with interment to follow in Sorrell’s Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be private.
He is survived by his wife of 45years, two daughters, three sons, nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and his sister, of Dyersburg.
Frankie Burkeen, Charley Jones, Sam Johnson, Sam Stuart, George Shute and Brandon Chessor will serve as pallbearers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Bart Lummus and two brothers, Raymond Baker and Jimmie Baker.
