Virginia Dykes, of Murfreesboro, passed from life to eternal life on September 4, 2009, her 67th birthday, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center while undergoing tests for chest pain. The doctor said she had severe blockage of the artery to the heart. Virginia (known as Ginny) was born in Middletown, Ohio to Harold and Virginia Rice. Ginny was married to Don Dykes for forty seven yers. The family moved here from Middletown, Ohio twenty eight years ago.

Ginny is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren and sister, Jane Blaine. They have three children, David (Lori) Dykes, Lynn (Paul) Anthony and Steven (Janette) Dykes. Ginny and don have seven grandchildren, Jordan Dykes, Morgan Dykes, Will Nelms, Caroline Dykes, Ginny Lynn Welchance, Evan Welchance and Kyle Dykes, all of whom live in Murfreesboro, except Jordan and Morgan, who live in Nashville. Ginny has one surviving aunt and uncle, Joan and Walter Farquis, and several cousins living in Middle town and around the country.

Ginny was a homemaker and stay at home mother. She excelled at both. The family has many pleasant memories of her. Ginny's passion was helping people. Ginny never met a strange. She loved people and they loved her back. In addition, she was a creative artisan. She designed exquisite jewelry, ornaments and wreaths, and loved nothing more than sharing her talents with others. Ginny was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church for twenty eight years. Ginny wrote care-mail prayer requests for the church. Ginny taught Sunday School several years and was currently serving on the Session. She was a believer in Jesus. We believe that she is in heaven and that we will see her again. She will be sorely missed.
