Ginny is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren and sister, Jane Blaine. They have three children, David (Lori) Dykes, Lynn (Paul) Anthony and Steven (Janette) Dykes. Ginny and don have seven grandchildren, Jordan Dykes, Morgan Dykes, Will Nelms, Caroline Dykes, Ginny Lynn Welchance, Evan Welchance and Kyle Dykes, all of whom live in Murfreesboro, except Jordan and Morgan, who live in Nashville. Ginny has one surviving aunt and uncle, Joan and Walter Farquis, and several cousins living in Middle town and around the country.
Ginny was a homemaker and stay at home mother. She excelled at both. The family has many pleasant memories of her. Ginny's passion was helping people. Ginny never met a strange. She loved people and they loved her back. In addition, she was a creative artisan. She designed exquisite jewelry, ornaments and wreaths, and loved nothing more than sharing her talents with others. Ginny was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church for twenty eight years. Ginny wrote care-mail prayer requests for the church. Ginny taught Sunday School several years and was currently serving on the Session. She was a believer in Jesus. We believe that she is in heaven and that we will see her again. She will be sorely missed.
Funeral services for Virginia will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Jennings & Ayers with Greg Martindale officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be from 4 p.m.to 7 p.m. on Monday, September 6, 2009 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home, 820 S. Church St., Murfreesboro, TN 37130.
