After training at Hunter College in New York City and Iowa State University, she was assigned to a naval base in Gulf Port, MS where she served until her Honorable Discharge in April, 1946. Olivia was married to R. Bud Davis, a High School Classmate, in 1947 and they were looking forward to celebrating their 72nd Anniversary in September, 2019. Olivia's main interest in life was her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was always more concerned about the well-being of others rather than of herself. Olivia was a member of St. John Catholic Church, a former member of St. John Altar and Rosary Society, Duck Lake country Club, Albion Women's Philanthropic Organization, Albion Hospital Service League, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Country Club of Jackson. They moved to their Carriage Lane home at Vista Grande Villa, an adult community, in Jackson, MI in October, 2011. Olivia and R. Bud Davis were substantial supporters of the restoration of the Bohm Theatre and the venue was designated as the "Davis Center for Film and Performing Arts" in their honor. In 2015, Albion College awarded its highest honor, (The Briton Medallion) to Olivia and Bud in recognition of their strong support of the college. In 2016 Albion College dedicated the "Davis Athletic Complex" in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Davis for their major financial support of the project. Olivia is survived by her husband, sons, Kent L. Davis of Albion and Mark O. Davis of Douglas-Saugatuck and by grandsons, Jon M. Davis and W. Hart Davis, also surviving are brothers, William Zenoniani, Dwayne Lee (Carolyn) Zenoniani, brother-in-law, Ben (Reba) Lark, and numerous nieces and nephews. Oliva was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Virginia (John) Karmalski, Audrey (Robert) Broas, and Ivadene (Wallace) Grooms. Olivia was a loving and caring person. She always enjoyed, even in her darkest hours, being surrounded by family and friends, and will forever be remembered for her warm and loving smile. At her request, Olivia has been cremated and her interment service will be private. A Memorial Mass to celebrate the gift of Olivia's life is planned for Monday, July 29, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. John Catholic Church 1020 Irwin Ave., Albion with Father Joe Gray officiating.
