HAYES LAFAYETTE (RODGERS) LIGHTSEY

R. L. LIGHTSEY DIED AT ANTLERS MONDAY IS BELIEF

THOUGHT FROM DESCRIPTION GIVEN THAT THERE IS NO DOUBT AS TO IDENTITY.

A message was received Tuesday by Waldo Watkins from the Masonic Lodge at Antlers stating that a stranger had died suddenly in that city, and from articles found in his pockets that he was supposed to live at or near Idabel. Mr. Watkins was unable to locate any Mason who was missing and the body was buried Tuesday, but this morning J. D. Lightsey decided to investigate, and after talking to people in Antlers and getting a full description of the deceased, decided that it was his father R. L. Lightsey, who has been living in Hugo. Mr. Lightsey left this afternoon in his car for Antlers so as to determine whether it was his father. From the description he is thoroughly convinced that it was.

Hayes was born in 1858. He was the son of Calvin Rodgers and Lucretia Cook. He passed away in 1924.[1]
