Lexington, SC - Ray Allen Steele, 89, passed away on March 19, 2020.

A graveside service will be held at the Steele Family Cemetery on Two Notch Road, between Smith Pond Road and Calks Ferry Road, in Lexington, SC at 2:00PM Monday, March 23, 2020. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.

Ray was born in Lexington on January 10, 1931, and was married to Betty Risinger Steele for 71 years. He worked as a Lexington County Deputy for several years before he joined the South Carolina Probation, Parole and Pardon Services in 1968, until his retirement in 1994. His hobbies and passions were woodworking and gardening. He was a member of the Round Hill Baptist Church.

Ray is survived by his wife, Betty Steele; sister, Mable Waters; sons, Dennis (Alma) Steele, Randy (Linda) Steele and Tim Steele; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Frances Steele, as well as his brother, Stanley Steele.
