Beryl Elmo Cox, son of Lindsay J and Clara E. Cash Cox, was born at Montague,Texas on August 29, 1910, and died at the Republic County hospital, Belleville, February 4,1978, at the age of 67 years five months and six days. He received his education at the elementary public schools of Montague, Texas and Plymouth, Nebraska, and Fairbury high school. He married Martha Jane U'Ren, on June 7, 1932, at Washington, Kansas, and to this union one daughter, Georgia Lee was born. He was employed by the Rock Island Railroad for 47 years, He was a maintenance foreman. He lived in Belleville for the past 24 years. He was a member of the Central Christian church of Belleville, and a member of the Brotherhood of the Maintenance of the Way Employees. He was preceded in death by his father, Lindsay J. Cox, four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Martha of the home, one daughter, Mrs . Doyle (Georgia Lee) Austen, of Fairbury, Nebr., his mother, Mrs . Clara E. Cox of Fairbury, three grandchildren, Dennis Lee Austen, of the U.S. Navy, stationed abroad on the USS Holland, of Holly Loch, Scotland, Michelle M. Austen, of Crete, Nebr. Robin R. Austen of Fairbury, Nebr., four sisters, Mrs. Gary (Clara) Liesenfeld, of Fairbury, Nebr., Mrs. Dale (Mary) Falk of Phoenix, Arizona, Mrs. Buena Brady and Mrs. John (Carolina) Orchard, both of Omaha, Nebr., one
brother, Bryan Cox of Fairbury, Nebr. Funeral services were held, Wednesday, February 8, at 1:30 p.m., at the Central Christian church of Belleville, conducted by the minister, Lon Hardy and Pastor Henry Thorberg.
Interment was made in Fairbury cemetery, Fairbury
