Mrs. Sallie Crews Meredith was born July 12, 1931 in Waynesboro, TN to the union of the late Jack and Marion Cole Crews.She was united in marriage to J.D. Meredith on October 17, 1948. Mr. Meredith preceded her in death on December 17, 2003. She was a homemaker and a member of the Waynesboro Church of Christ. Mrs. Meredith departed this life on March 19, 2020 in Waynesboro, Tennessee making her stay in this life some 88 Years, 8 Months and 7 Days.

She is survived by a son, Don Meredith and wife Betty of Waynesboro, TN; two daughters, Myra Meredith Ellis and husband James of Brighton, TN, Sandra Meredith Terry of Atoka, TN; three brothers, Terrell Crews and wife Connie of Waynesboro, TN, Joe Crews of Waynesboro, TN, Ted Crews and wife Glenda of Muscle Shoals, AL; a sister-in-law, Betty Crews of Waynesboro, TN; a brother-in-law, Tommy Shelton of Waynesboro, TN; six grandchildren, Melissa Leathers and husband Ray of Senatobia, MS, J.D. Meredith and wife Stacey of Germantown, TN, Amy Betts and husband Mike of Waynesboro, TN, Mollie Meredith of Waynesboro, TN, Leann Maness and husband Nick of Atoka, TN, Sallie Finley and husband Chris of Atoka, TN; nine great grandchildren J.C. Martin, Katie Moore, Meredith Leathers, Garner Meredith, Graham Meredith, Riley Finley, Leah Kate Finley, Marley Maness and Myla Maness. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband of 55 years and parents, Mrs. Meredith was preceded in death by a brother, Van Crews; two sisters, Mary Ann Shelton, Rebecca Ray; a brother-in-law, Raymond Ray; a sister-in-law, Ann Crews; and a great granddaughter, Ella Elizabeth Betts.

Services will be held on March 21, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors at Waynesboro in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Gregg Lee and Cary Crews officiating. Burial will follow in the Shields Cemetery, Shackelford Funeral Directors Assisting.
