Mrs William Merritt died at her home east of Darnell last Friday. The funeral services were conducted at the Mt Zion Baptist Church, Sunday by Rev Alby Kite. Interment at Honey Creek Cemetery.

Tabitha West was born December 20, 1834, and died July 27, 1900, aged 65 years, 7 months and 7 days. She was the daughter of John and Dorcas West from which union was born thirteen children, four sons and nine daughters, all of whom preceded her to this eternal rest except three sisters who survive her. She was married to William Merritt September 1, 1855, and their happy home was blessed by three daughters, all of whom survive her. The funeral service is at Mt Zion, July 29, 1900, conducted by Rev Alby Kite, with interment at Honey Creek Cemetery.

Mr Chill Stradling, Frank Zerkle, John Allison and Buckles Bros took up Mrs William Merritt last Wednesday. She had been buried about a year and a half at Honey Creek Cemetery. They moved her to the other side of the lot, out of the way of where they are going to make a road.
