After nearly 94 years of consecrated Christian life, all spent as a citizen of Pike County, Mrs. Salena Ellzey Walker slipped into death at the home of her son and daughter early Thursday morning.

Her passing came at 9:30 a.m. at the residence occupied by L. S. Walker and the daughter, Miss Eula Walker, at 609 Virginia Ave. Mrs. Walker had been seriously ill for only two months, her last illness being complicated by the infirmities natural to one of her far advanced years.

She was born in Pike County May 24, 1855, a daughter of the late Frank and Betsy Holmes Ellzey, pioneer citizens of the community. She was married to the late D. P. Walker, Sr. on March 13, 1879.

Funeral services for this beloved lady will be said at three o'clock Friday afternoon, from Catchings Chapel, with Dr. Wyatt R. Hunter, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating, and friends and relatives serving as pallbearers. The remains will lie at the chapel until time for interment.

A daughter, Mrs. May Walker Felder, and the husband preceded Mrs. Walker in death, and she leaves three sons, B. J. and L. S. Walker, both of McComb, and D. P. Walker, Jr., Tulsa, Okla.; four daughters, Mrs. Lucy Norman and Miss Eula Walker, McComb; Mrs. Ida Felder, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mrs. J. D. Brent, Meridian; a brother, J. H. Ellzey, Progress; 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many other relatives.

Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery with Catchings Funeral Home in charge of services.
