Richard Colley Hale, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, July 29, 2007. He was a faithful servant of the Lord and walked in the love, compassion, and forgiveness of Christ, teaching his family to do the same. His family could not have had a greater blessing that having Rick as a faithful husband; Lisa and Sarah were blessed to have him as their dad; he was a wonderful grandfather to Chase. He served the Lord with his trumpet playing to the glory of God. Rick was a devout Christian who loved the Lord with all his heart and showed it through his dedication to the Praise Team and the Music Ministry at 1st Assembly of God. He was born in Pensacola, FL a son of Thomas Bates Hale and Elizabeth Thompson Hale on Monday, November 27, 1950. Rick was a graduate of the College of Charleston Class of 1975 and served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a painting sub contractor with Rapid Repair. Rick loved music all his life, weather it be playing his Trumpet or writing praise music. In high school he even played with Doc Severinsen. Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Jane Patterson Hale; two daughters, Lisa A. Hale and Sarah M. Carter; a grandson, Chase Carter all of Charleston; his mother, Elizabeth T. Hale of Pensacola, FL; three brothers, Thomas Hale of Pensacola, FL, Lee Hale of Atlanta, Ga. and Robert Hale of Martinez, GA. Rick was predeceased by a sister, Becky Hale Fuller. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy . Rick's family invite you to celebrate his life at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2007 at the First Assembly of God. Burial with Military Honors will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
