Gene W. Whitley, age 74, of Tuscaloosa, died July 31, 2007, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Survivors include his daughter, Vanessa Lockhart of Gordo, Ala.; sisters, Sue Weathers and Katherine Pate of Duncanville, Ala.; and grandchildren, Jason Lockhart and Joshua Lockhart. His wife, Dorothy B. Whitley, parents, Famie and Allen Whitley, and brothers, Paul Whitley and James A. Whitley, preceded him in death.
