Paul Goodwin

"For many are called, but few are chosen." (Matthew 22:14). Paul transitioned to his heavenly home on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Floyd Hospital. Rome, GA. Paul was born on December 2, 1951 to the late Floyd Goodwin, Sr and Dorothy Hudson Goodwin. Paul was the youngest of six children. Although Paul called Harris County, GA his home - he spent years living in Tennessee, Washington, DC and Summerville/Rome. GA.
Paul struggled with heart disease and was on the transplant list for a heart. He was on a heart monitor that functioned as his heart and never complained about how heavy the equipment was or the stress and toll it had on his mind, body and soul. Paul had such a -free spirit." He was such a joy to be around with his sense of humor and love for his family. He would sit on that front porch and you could hear him laugh all the way up and down 208. Paul always had a welcoming smile for whoever graced his presence. He never met a stranger.
Paul was a graduate of Carver High School (Hamilton. GA). Class of 1969. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force/National Guard and was skilled in working on transportation planes. Late in life he found his niche, which was transporting vehicle. Paul's love for driving was apparent, through the many stories he'd share and many friendships he made.
This is when he met Janice Hunter Cameron and Paul "Cee" Goodwin was born during this relationship. Paul "Cee" as he is affectionally known is married to his wife Tina and they have five children, Christion, Chance, Caitlyn. Charlei and Cortne and reside in Nashville, TN.
Paul met, and married Delois Thomas Goodwin. They had Stanasha (Will) & Chris during this union. Stanasha has two children, Joshua Paul and Madison. both Stanasha & Chris reside in Atlanta, GA.
Paul was later married to Sharon Rounsaville Goodwin, who preceded him in death. Together, they adopted Asia Trice.
He is going to certainly be missed by his three brothers and two sisters - Welbon (Geraldine) Goodwin- Atlanta, GA, Mariah (Marvin) Barnes-Washington, DC, George Goodwin- Hamilton, GA, Alma (Betty) Walker-Cataula, GA, and Floyd Goodwin- Austell. GA.
His memories are shared by one Aunt, Alma Boddie Goodwin and one brother in law, Cicero ''Sonny" Rounsaville, Summerville. GA along with a host of other nieces, nephews. cousins, and many friends.
