Willie attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools graduating from Providence High School. Willie furthered his education at the Barber Styling Institute in Charlotte, North Carolina.
He pursued his passion working at Bladez Barbershop for several years. Willie also was employed at Wells Fargo Bank. Willie relocated to Columbia SC to further his education attending Remington College where he received his cosmetology license. He was a barber at Great Clips and Sharkys in Columbia SC. He was currently working at Great Clips Barber Styling in Mount Pleasant SC until his health failed.
Wootnie, as he was affectionately called had a passion for comedy. He loved telling jokes, making people laugh and was loved by everyone he encountered. He was a loving father, son, brother, finance' and a inspiration to those that needed a smile when going through tough times.
He was preceded in death by a special aunt, Jacqueline Powell.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his parents, Johnnie Mae Spencer (Larry-Poppa Larry) Charlotte NC; Father Willie James Baker (Lynette) Charlotte NC; Fiance', Mariah Rivers of Columbia SC; Daughters, Vanessa Baker, Jayla Nichole Baker of Charlotte NC; Sons, Damiyon Sanders, Jaylen Me'kel Chisholm and Jayden Dionte Baker of Charlotte NC; and Michael Baker of Columbia, SC; A special niece, Alissa Monte' Baker of Charlotte NC; Grandmother, Willie Mae Baker of PA; Brothers, Adrian Banks (Marisa), Corey L. Baker (Wanda), Cedrick Brown (Tee), Darrell Spencer all of Charlotte NC and Rev. Harold C. Dixon (God Brother) of Charlotte NC; a host of uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
