Mrs. Billie Mae Greenbey passed away on Friday, February 28,2020 in Chicago, Illinois. She was born on August 28, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Mr. Lonnie and Mrs. Susie Williams Barrett.
Billie was a beloved member of the famed Chicago gospel group, The Barrett Sisters, with her sisters, Delois and Rodessa.
Billie wedded twice in her lifetime, once to Mr. William Frank Spratley, Jr. and also to Mr. James Greenbey.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mrs. Ruby Barrett Watkins, Ms. Gussie Barrett, Mrs. Delois Barrett-Campbell, and Ms. Dorothy Barrett; brothers, Mr. Lonnie Barrett, Mr. Elbert Barrett, and Mr. Joe Leon Barrett.
In addition to her husband, Billie also leaves behind her daughter: Ms. Albertina "Tina" Spratley; sister, Mrs. Rodessa Barrett Porter; and a host of loving family members and friends.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12th at 7 p.m. at Lilydale Progressive Baptist Church, 10706 S Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60628.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 13th at 12 Noon at Trinity United Church of Christ 400 W 95th St, Chicago, IL 60628. Billie will lie-in-state one hour prior to the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the church.
Final Service & Interment: Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
