The 1891 Census of Canada shows that Edmund, his parents, and six siblings lived in Wallace Township, Ontario. By the time of the 1901 census, Edmund and his family lived in Hanover, where he was employed as a chair maker. (A few furniture factories were located in or near Hanover at that time.)
On January 17, 1906, Edmund, age 23, married Auguste Laschatzki, age 22, in Berlin (now Kitchener), Ontario. Auguste was the daughter of John and Henrietta (Schrewski) Laschatzki. She was born in Berlin, Germany. (Surname is recorded as Leschetzki or Schatzke is some records.)

- Viglas? (daughter), born June 1907
