She was born to the late Eddie Vester and Christine Elizabeth Williams in Warren, Arkansas, on May 12, 1929.
This strong, independent and loving mother of three children managed many relocations in support of her late husband Henry Eugene “Gene” Sparks, who built bridges and high-voltage power lines across the USA. Gene and Sue were true loves and were together when he passed away in 1991 on their Christmas tree farm in Bradley County, Arkansas. She played on the high school basketball team, bowled in leagues into her 80s and loved sports. She liked to fish, travel and be a great mom and wife. Sue always dressed to the nines with her stylish sense of fashion. Travels and vacations took her coast-to-coast and to Paris, France; Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii.
Sue is survived by her sons and daughter-in-laws, John and Robin Sparks and David and Mary Sparks; her daughter Rose Sparks, sister Jeanette Ragar, grandson Joe Sparks, granddaughters Tyler Faircloth and Caitlin Teague; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Jimmy and Kenneth Williams and her grandaughter, Amy Sparks Parker.
There will be a private graveside memorial service.
