Esther B. Kinne, widow of the late Charles Allan, on of Camden's pioneer planing mill man, entered into rest at 2 o'clock Monday morning after wight months of feeble health, incident to the general breaking down of her rugged constitution. The remarkable old lady enjoyed the distinction of being the oldest native born resident of the town, and from the day of her birth at the Kinne homestead on the River road she has witnessed practically the settlement and development of Camden and vicinity. When she was a child her home was the terminal of the River road, and to reach the village of the few scattering "neighbors" they followed marked paths through the formats. She attended school on the Seventh and made the trip across country through the wooded wilds in order to gain the meager privileges of education in those early days.

Mrs. Allan was born February 6, 1822, being one of the 12 children of the late Amos and Rachel (Campfield) Kinne. With the exception of Miss Mariathia Kinne of Charlotte, Mich., she was the last survivor. November 13, 1850, she was married and with her husband came to live in the village, in the C. A Boehm house on North Park St. Mr. Alan at once began the erection of the family residence on Third St., of which they took possession in July, 1851. Deceased had passed the intervening 58 years in the same house. Well did she not the transformation of pasture and wilds into the present beautiful village and equally well did she enjoy the reminiscences which her long life here afforded. She retained her mental faculties un almost the last. To all who knew her her death is deeply mourned.

Surviving are two daughters, Misses Mary J. and Rachel S. Allan, and Charles Allan, all of this village.

The funeral occurs from the family residence on Third St. at 2:30 this afternoon. Rev. F. L. Knapp officiating. The remains will be placed in the Forest Park receiving vault. Deceased was one of the oldest members of the M. E. church having joined early in life.
