Naomi Dickerson Sanders of Sargent Texas was called home by our Lord on Sunday, March 15 2020.
Naomi was born in Burke, Angelina County, Texas on January 20, 1925. She was born to Harvey Franklin Dickerson of Atlanta, Dekalb County, Georgia and Letha Iowa Dickerson of Clayton, Rabun County, Georgia.
Naomi grew up and attended school in rural Burke, Texas and at age 15 was accepted into Ft. Worth Technical High School for the years of 1940-42 Business Education Program.
Naomi wed her childhood sweetheart, Walter D. Sanders (Pete) on June 23, 1942 in Angelina County, Texas. They were blessed with two children: Linda Sue Sanders Boney and Robert Lynn Sanders and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Naomi was licensed through the Texas Real Estate Commission and held a Real Estate Brokers License. Naomi and her husband Walter D. (Pete) Sanders owned Sargent Reality and Development. Together, they developed subdivisions, as well as, businesses in Sargent and in Deer Park, Texas.
Naomi was a member of the Texas Secretary's Association.
Naomi was one of the founding members of the Sargent First Baptist Church. She not only gave of herself to work as secretary and bookkeeper, but she served in the choir, taught Sunday School classes and helped in many other capacities too.
Naomi was an avid hunter, she was an amazing baker, active in her community, spent her life taking care of others and a devoted grandmother and great grandmother. She was loved by so many. She will be sorely missed.
