Sharon Kay Springer, age 76, of Sparta, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at the Mayo Health System in Lacrosse, Wisconsin. She was born June 22, 1943 to Byron and Gloy (Randle) Getter.
Sharon held a wide variety of jobs, including waitressing, bartending, and housekeeping…but her favorite job of all was being a stay at home mother. If there was one word to describe her, it would be feisty!! But behind it all, she was incredibly selfless and kind to others. She loved to host gatherings and throw parties for any occasion, even for herself. Sharon loved flowers, gardening, and card making. She would, literally, stop to smell the roses! Sharon passed on her love of baking through sharing her recipes to her children and grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her daughters, Katherine Hagen of Onalaska and Candy (David) McGinnis of Sparta; grandchildren, Jeremy, James, Samantha, Walker, Nova; great grandchildren, Daymian, Darwin, Daylynn, Desiree, Mackenzie; siblings, Alice Swiggum, Rose Vanchena, Mary Lou Getter, Joe (Bessie) Getter; and daughter-in-law, Lillian Hagen. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her children, Dale Hagen and Sherry VanTassel; her brothers, Malcolm, Eddie, and Basil; her sister, Marilyn; and many other loved ones.
Memorial Services will be held Friday, March 20, 2020, 11:00 a.m., at the New Life Assembly of God Church, 720 Avon Road, Sparta, WI 546556. Pastor Randy Williamson will officiate. Friends and family are invited for visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the church. A continued time to celebrate Sharon’s life will be held around her birthday in June.
