Laura was the daughter of Bee Sanders and Maggie Ford Sanders. She was educated in the Macon County School System and was a Class of 1964 graduate of D.F. Douglass High School in Montezuma, Georgia. She received her certification in culinary and dietary cooking. She was employed with the Macon County Board of Education as a Dietician at Macon County Elementary School for 25 years, retiring after exemplary service. She was a member of the Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church in Oglethorpe, Georgia. She was also a member of the Baccheus Chapter O.E.S. #124, she served in various positions of the chapter star and offices.

She was married to Deacon Willie Frank Harris they were blessed with 3 children. She was preceded in death by 1 son, Bryant O'Neal Harris.

Survivors:
1 Daughter: Felisha Harris Eskridge(Rev. Cosby).
1 Son: Steven A. Harris Sr(Deborah).
1 Step-Son: Tony Kaigler(Lee).
3 Sisters: Elder Beatrice Sanders Gaines, Marie Sanders Spikes and Agnes Sanders Wright(Larry).
1 Brother-In-Law: Earl Gene Harris(Jacqueline).
1 Sister-In-Law: Mary McMillian.
6 Grandchildren: Candance, Taylor, Deborah Ann, Charidee, Brandan and Steven A. Harris Jr.
6 Great Grandchildren: Sasha, Hailey, Camiron, Nolan, Avah and Steven A. Harris III.

Services were held Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 1PM in the Sanctuary of Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church in Oglethorpe, Georgia with Rev. Glenn Bryant officiating.
