David John Walsh was born to Mildred and Thomas Walsh.
At age 17, he joined the Marines and served in Korea. In 1958, he married his child hood sweetheart, Marilyn Reardon. Together, they raised four sons.After retiring from the Marshfield Police Department, he relocated the family to Tennessee Colony. He retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a major and spent many years doing what he loved best-- being with his family and friends, especially grandchildren, ranching and going to gun shows.
Dave will be remembered by his family and friends as a giving father, a loving husband, a caring Papa, and as quite the character by anyone who ever met him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Suzanne White Collins; his brother, Donald Walsh and his grandson, Connor Patrick Walsh.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marilyn Walsh; his children,David Walsh (Dawna) of Tennessee Colony , Michael Walsh of Homer, Alaska, Brian Walsh of Tennessee Colony, Steven Walsh (Reginia) of Palestine; his grandchildren Swayze Carlile, Krystle Walsh, Matthew Walsh, Hana Walsh, Sara Walsh, Sean Walsh and Lauren Walsh; his sisters, Judy Morris (Phillip), Mary Corbett, Barbara McGregor and Cathy Shehadah (Benjamin); and his brother, Michael Walsh and wife Charlene.
In light of the current health crisis, a private graveside service will be held at Tennessee Colony Cemetery with Steven Walsh officiating.
