Valentina Ivanovna Gagarina was born on December 15, 1935 in the Orenburg family of the Goryachev. Her father was chef Ivan Stepanovich native of Orenburg. He was invited to work in the catering complex of the Central Committee of the Communist party. Valentina's mother was Varvara Semyonovna from the Ryazan province, who was a housewife. There were 6 children in Goryavchev family - 3 boys and 3 girls. Valentina was the youngest, brothers - the eldest Aleksey and the youngest Mikhail died in WWII, the middle - Ivan fought in the Far East.
Valentina graduated from the Orenburg Medical School. She worked in the laboratory of the Medical Department of the Mission Control Center.
After the death of her husband Yuriy Gagarin, she did not give interviews. She participated in events dedicated to the first cosmonaut, met with the first people of the country, helped the Yuriy Gagarin Museum and transferred her husband’s personal belongings there.
In 1981, Valentina Ivanovna wrote the first book in memory of Gagarin "108 Minutes and a Lifetime”. She repeatedly published her memoirs.
She lived in the Star City in the Shchelkovskiy district of the Moscow region, on the 4th floor of building number 2. From her windows one can see the monument to her husband, clutching a daisy in the palm of his hand.
As of March 18, 2020 it is not officially announced where Valentina Gagarina will be buried.
Yuriy Gagarin's cremated remains are in Kremlin's Wall in Moscow where no wives were ever allowed to share a niche with their husbands.
Valentina Gagarina might be buried at her family plot in Orenburg, at Leonikha cemetery near Star City, at Novodevichy cemetery or at the Federal Military Memorial Cemetery in Mytischi.

I grew up in Star City where everybody knew each other and I will greatly appreciate if this memorial will be left alone by zealous collectors. I will add cemetery as soon as it will be official.
