Robert J. Hanna, of New City, NY, passed away February 7, 2006 at Hudson Valley Hospital at the age of 80. Robert was born in Union City, NJ to James A. and Marian (Wien) Hanna. Robert served his country proudly in the United States Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater abroad the Aircraft Carriers USS Essex and USS Santee. He worked for Avon Products before retiring in 1988. Robert was a member of the VFW and an usher for 44 years at St. Augustine's Church. He also enjoyed golfing, crossword puzzles, reading and gardening. Robert is survived by his two sons, Robert and his wife Regina of Madison, NJ. Kevin and his wife Lisa of Flemington, NJ. A daughter Eileen P.Hanna of Mahway, NJ, his three grandchildren, Matthew, Colleen and James. He is also survived by his sisters, Bernice Madsen and Barbara Moore. Robert was predeceased by his wife Eileen. Family will receive friends on Thursday and Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Higgins Funeral Home, New City, NY.
