Mrs. Minnie A. Callies, 84, of 2035 W. 3rd St. died at 1:40 a.m. Saturday at her home, of complications incident to advanced age. She was a member of Trinity American Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Callies was born June 24, 1870, in Germany. Her Family brought her to the United States while she was a child, and settled near Toeterville. She was married to William F. Callies Aug. 31, 1893, at St. Ansgar, and they moved to Waterloo shortly after. her husband died July 20, 1937.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Roscoe (Esther) Manning, 611 Home Park Blvd,; two sons, Arnold and Harry Callies, at home; a stepson, William T. Callies, North Hollywood, Calif.; a granddaughter, Mrs. John Brumble, 56 E. Parker St.; a grandson, William Manning, Wayzata, Minn.; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Borchardt, St. Ansgar, and Mrs. George Belz, Mason City.
She was preceded in death by two children, three sisters, three brothers, a stepson and stepdaughter.
Funeral services are tentatively set for 2 p.m. Monday at Trinity American Lutheran church, Rev. G. E. Melchert, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Midwest Garden of Memories. The casket will be taken from Locke Funeral Home to the church at 11 a.m.
