Martha Rebecca Beavers-Whitley, 93, of Dry Fork died on Sunday, May 19, 1996 at a Tazewell, VA hospital following a lengthy illness. She made her home in the North Tazewell and Dry Fork areas her entire life and was a member of the North Tazewell United Methodist Church.

She was bom at Dry Fork, VA to the late Alexander Robert Beavers (1874-1934) and Sarah Elizabeth Harman-Beavers-Whitley (1877-1956). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Harman Beavers (1904–1938), Ross Jackson Beavers (1907–1989), and Wlliam Howard Taft Beavers (1910–1944) She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 22, 1996 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel at Tazewell with the Revs. Tom Mustard and Brad Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery at Tazewell.
