Capt. Warwood E. Mason, a retired executive of American Export Lines, now American Export lsbrandtsen Lines, died Monday in Orange Memorial Hospital in East Orange, N. J. He was 73 years old and lived at 334 West 85th Street, New York. Captain Mason joined American Export Lines in 1926 as third officer, became a sea captain in 1932 and was appointed director of employment and labor relations manager for the line in 1950. He retired from that post 16 years later. His wife, Alice Trumbull Mason, an abstract painter, died in 1971. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Emily Mason Kahn; two grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Mason McGarvey.
