Orville Thomas Gibson, 80, Ruthville, ND, died in his home on Saturday, March 14, 2020.
Orville was born on September 14, 1939, in Westfield, ND, to Earl and Cora (Rensker) Gibson. He was raised on the family farm near Timber Lake, SD and, in 1957, graduated from Timber Lake High School.

Orville entered into active duty service with the United States Air Force in 1965 and honorably served his country until his retirement in 1991. He served in the Vietnam War and was stationed in Texas, New Hampshire, Indiana, Kansas, and, most recently, Minot.
He worked as a machinist with the Sheet Metal Shop and attained the rank of Master-Sergeant.

In 1974, he received the Maintenance Man Award. After retirement, Orville made his home in the Ruthville area where he worked as a dog trainer and enjoyed spending time with his animals.

Orville was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Cora Gibson; his son, Theodore Gibson; his grandson, Thomas Gibson; his brother, Arthur; and his sisters Elsie and Marlene.

Orville is survived by: two daughters, Corrina (Keith) Lemer, RR, Max, and Dierdra (Marshall) Carroll, Gerrarstown, WV; 7 grandchildren, including Thea Shapiro; Aden Shapiro; Cohl Jorgenson; Kasie Wiley; Marshall Carroll, Jr.; Dillon Gibson; and Joseph Gibson; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is also survived by a twin brother, Thomas (Vickie) Gibson, Rapid City, SD, and brother, Willis (Esther) Gibson, Midland, MI. Thomas served in the U.S. Air Force and Willis served in the U.S. Army.

Celebration of Life service: Saturday, March 21, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, 304 S. Main St., Minot.

Visitation: The family will receive friends on Friday, March 20, 2020, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
